Admissions Counselor

Cleveland Institute of Music

Working in Admissions drew on many experiences I had honed as a public school teacher. I helped organize audition days, I recruited at college fairs and events across the country, and I helped students and parents through the conservatory application process, which in many cases is very daunting and unfamiliar. This work also required learning a platform called Slate, which allows schools to customize all steps of the application process. I built and maintained the student portal for CIM, shown below. Students can now log into one page to see the current status of their application, application and audition materials that they have submitted or are currently missing, update specific aspects of their application, even register to audition.

Folks Middle School, 2013-2017

Jefferson Middle School, 2012-2015

As an educator, communicating with parents is essential to maximizing the opportunities for students. Examples of this include the Handbook and Calendar that I would present at the beginning of each school year, and an example Newsletter of upcoming events.

After being voted in as an officer for TMEA Region 29 I looked for ways to optimize and improve our organization. Examples include a plan for the 2017 Clinic and Concert that I hosted, as well as a plan sent out to directors for audition day.

Please feel free to reach out to my references, as I feel that they will be able to give you a comprehensive idea of the scope of my work. Their contact information can be found at the bottom of my Resume.
